Hi im having the same issue with my Ford Focus ecoboost 1.0. The garage want to take the engine apart and most likely to say it needs a new engine the oil light used to take some time to go off after start and now it’s always on with the engine sounding rough and reduced power.
Ford Model: Mk4 Focus ST 2.3 EcoBoost. Ford Year: 2019. UK/Ireland Location: Dorset. Posted February 1, 2023. Not the problemed cam wet belt no. It’s chain in the mk4. The oil pump is still belt driven and while that’s not known to cause issues, I’d still avoid engine flushes. 1.

Ford WSS-M2C948-B Largely based on the ACEA C2 oil sequence this spec requires a low SAPS 5W20 oil and is primarily designed for the 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder EcoBoost engine. Contains in-house tests for fuel economy and piston deposit control. Oils meeting this spec must provide a 0.9% fuel economy improvement over regular 5W-20 oils.

First check is the pipework - anything fallen off? cracked/perished/leaking hoses. Then confirm that the pump is creating a vacuum.
My source of info states. 5w20 wss-m2c948-b or 5w30 Wss-m2c 913-C for all petrol Ecoboost except 1.0l (5w20 required) and Wss-m2c 913-C for all diesels. My source (bobstheoilguy.com) is market independent, so checking your owners manual is the key. Identical revisions of the same engine often use different oil in different territories.
My Thailand assembled, Craiova engined 1.0 Ecoboost owners manual recommends 5w-20 but says 5w-30 can be used. I'm not sure if your manual is slightly different from mine (it seems so), but in my manual it says that if one needs to add oil and don't have 5W-20 the 5W-30 can be used instead. But only 0,8 liters max.
Posted July 10, 2021. Got an fiesta ecoboost 1.0 2013. For a couple months on startup I’d get the oil light and warning come up for literally 2 seconds and go off, questioned this at a garage and with a couple of mechanics and they said probably sensor fault aslong as it’ll goes out it’ll be fine. last week engine started to feel like it

Hello - I was hoping someone maybe able to help. I have a ford focus 1.0 ecoboost (mk3). The oil rises and I think it smells of fuel - the oil is above on the oil stick level. I have replaced the oil (recommend grade) and filter but still rises and oil looks thin. Also got 02 sensors bank1 sensor
Ford Model: Focus 1.0 ecoboost. Ford Year: 2014. UK/Ireland Location: Worcestershire. Posted December 7, 2022. Is it difficult to remove the sump on a 2014 focus 1.0 eco boost? I’ve seen a video of doing it on a fiesta 1.0 eco boost and it seemed ok. I’m thinking of taking the sump of to check if the oil pump pick up is getting clogged. thanks.
It probably doesn't matter, but if Ford allows the option, I'd choose 5w-30 for the 1.5L engine. Direct-injected, turbo engines like the 1.5 EcoBoost tend to dilute the engine oil with fuel, which in turn can permanently reduce the oil's viscosity. Having the added viscosity of a 5w-30 provides extra protection if fuel dilution occurs.
